What's NEXT for Admitted Students

 

1. FIRST : Log into the Student Portal - GTC4

2. Visit www.gvltec.edu and click on Student Login at the top of any page, then GTC4me.

3. Scroll down : under LOGIN INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS click on “Click here for username help”

4. Enter your last name and FULL Social Security number and submit.

5. You GTC username will be displayed on the next screen after hitting submit

6. Back on the GTC4me web page, go to "Click to login now!"

7. Enter your GTC email address: Example username@my.gvltec.edu

8. Password: Your GTC4me, Self Service and Gmail password is the last SIX digits of your Social Security number or federal tax identification number.

9. SECOND: Enrollment Agreement and Advising survey

10. After you have logged into GTC4me, select the Self-Service icon

11. Student Enrollment Agreement

•Click on the link, read the agreement, and click “I agree.”
• Close this tab. (It will not auto-close.)
• Go back to Self Service.

12. Advising and Registration

• You will fill out a short survey to help us determine the correct advising area.
• You may be directed to schedule your advising appointment via an online calendar OR an advisor will contact you to schedule an advising appointment.
• Advisors will use all available high school transcripts, college transcripts, AP, IB, CLEP, SAT, ACT, or NG Accuplacer scores to assist in the advising process. If you have not submitted any of these, bring copies when meeting with an advisor.

13. THIRD: Access your GTC Gmail Account

***** IMPORTANT! *****

All future correspondence from GTC, including emails from your instructors, will ONLY be sent to your GTC student Gmail account. Please remember to check it FREQUENTLY! Access to GTC Gmail may take up to 12 hours after the student's username is created.

14. In GTC4me, select the Gmail icon to access your Greenville Tech student email.


 

15. Your email address is your username plus the student Gmail extension @my.gvltec.edu. Example: smithes@my.gvltec.edu
*If you are signed into your personal Gmail account, you will need to sign out.

When you click NEXT, your Greenville Tech email will show.

[[Your college email address is through Google Gmail, and it is not permanent. It only lasts while you are a student and a brief period after you've left the college, so don't use it for banking, shopping, important life documents, etc. It should be used for school business, for instance, to contact your instructor or advisor and receive important communications from the college.]]

TIP: You can forward your student Gmail to your smartphone or add your student Gmail account to your smartphone.

17. MORE YOU CAN DO IN SELF SERVICE

Financial Aid Status
• Select the Financial Aid box.
• Select the appropriate award year.
• Scroll down to view your Financial Aid Checklist.
• Complete FAFSA if needed - studentaid.gov

Pay Tuition
• Select the Student Finance box.
• View your account.
• Make a payment online.
Do Not Purge Payment Plan
• Select the Student Finance box.
• Select DNP Form under Helpful Links.
• Complete form and submit.
• Pay down payment and set-up fee.

Have prior credit at GTC or transfer credit?
• Select Student Planning box.
• Select 1. Go to My Progress.
• Scroll through the degree requirements to see if your transfer courses have been added.
• The grade for transfer courses will show as TR.

18. ACCESS YOUR COURSE WORK in Blackboard

You may access your course(s) in Blackboard 24 hours before the day your class(es) begin.

19. In the GTC4me portal, click the Bb icon.

20. Finally: DON’T forget to log out of your sessions! Click on Sign out.

21. If you are unable to log into GTC4me or Gmail call (864)-250-8000.
